International Exchange
Connecting the World Through Budo
Budo has the unique power to bring people together beyond differences in nationality, culture, language, and tradition.
The International Budo Human Development Association (IBMA) promotes international exchange by using Budo as a universal language through which people from around the world can learn from one another, build mutual respect, and grow together.
For IBMA, international exchange is more than friendship across borders. It is an educational activity that contributes to personal development and the creation of a more peaceful and harmonious society.
Building Mutual Understanding Through Budo
Budo embodies universal values such as respect, courtesy, gratitude, cooperation, and self-discipline.
These values transcend cultural, religious, and political differences, providing a common foundation for meaningful relationships among people worldwide.
Through Budo, IBMA seeks to deepen mutual understanding, encourage respect for diversity, and foster lasting friendships based on shared human values.
Connecting the Global Budo Community
IBMA actively promotes exchange among martial artists, dojos, educational institutions, researchers, and Budo organizations around the world.
The purpose of these exchanges is not competition or superiority.
Rather, it is to share knowledge and experience, learn from one another, and work together to enrich and advance the culture of Budo for future generations.
Our International Activities
IBMA engages in a variety of international initiatives, including:
- International seminars and educational workshops
- Cooperation with international tournaments and demonstration events
- Exchange programs with overseas dojos
- Collaboration among instructors and researchers
- International youth exchange programs
- Global learning through the Digital Budo Textbook
- International collaborative research in Budo Education
A Global Network That Respects Diversity
IBMA is not dedicated to promoting a single style, organization, or competition.
Instead, we seek to build an international network founded on mutual respect, recognizing the unique history, culture, philosophy, and independence of each martial arts organization.
We believe that diversity strengthens Budo, and that learning from one another enriches us all.
International Partnerships
IBMA actively develops partnerships with martial arts organizations, educational institutions, research organizations, and community groups around the world.
While respecting the independence and philosophy of each partner, we work together based on shared values to advance Budo education, develop future leaders, promote international exchange, and contribute to a more peaceful and prosperous society.
Cooperation with KWU SENSHI
IBMA and IBMA Kyokushin Kaikan support the vision and activities of KWU SENSHI, an international organization dedicated to the development of martial arts, international cooperation, and combat sports.
Through its work in Budo Education Research, education, international exchange, and human development, IBMA contributes to KWU SENSHI’s mission of promoting the global growth of martial arts while creating opportunities for martial artists from different countries and backgrounds to learn from one another and build lasting friendships.
As a dojo that shares the philosophy of KWU SENSHI, IBMA Kyokushin Kaikan actively supports its development through competition, education, international exchange, and leadership development.
Together, IBMA and IBMA Kyokushin Kaikan are committed to expanding the educational value of Budo, strengthening international friendship, and contributing to the continued development of martial arts culture throughout the world.
International Exchange for Future Generations
The future of Budo depends upon the next generation.
IBMA is committed to creating opportunities for children and young people from around the world to meet, learn together, build friendships, and develop relationships that transcend national borders.
By investing in future generations, we believe Budo can continue to serve as a force for peace, mutual understanding, and human development.
Toward a Global Budo Community
IBMA envisions a worldwide community where martial artists learn from one another, inspire one another, and support one another.
By cultivating people through Budo and connecting the world through education and friendship, we hope to contribute to a more peaceful, respectful, and prosperous future for all.
