Partner & Cooperating Organizations
Respecting Independence and Working Together for the Future of Budo
IBMA (International Budo Man Association) promotes cooperation
with Budo organizations, dojos, and instructors that share its
principles and objectives in the fields of personal development,
education, research, instructor development, international exchange,
and contribution to society.
IBMA does not seek to bring different organizations or styles
under a single centralized structure.
Our basic approach is to respect the history, traditions, names,
teaching systems, organizational policies, management structures,
and distinctive characteristics of each organization and dojo,
while building cooperation in areas of common purpose.
Principles of Cooperation
-
We respect the name, history, traditions,
and independence of each organization and dojo. -
We do not seek to impose a single instructional
or organizational system. -
We cooperate in Budo education, research,
instructor development, improved safety,
international exchange, and contribution to society. -
We respect the expertise, systems, culture,
and autonomy of each organization. -
We value long-term cooperation based on
mutual trust, responsibility, and dialogue.
The Budo Network IBMA Seeks to Build
Budo includes many different arts, traditions, schools,
cultures, and methods of training, including Karate,
Judo, Kendo, Kenjutsu, Aikido, and many others.
IBMA does not seek to eliminate these differences.
Rather, we seek to respect the distinctive value
and identity of each Budo tradition and organization,
while learning from one another and cooperating
in the shared task of developing people through Budo.
Cooperation may extend beyond technical practice and competition
to such areas as Budo education, instructor development,
safety management, youth development, lifelong Budo,
international exchange, research, publication,
and the sharing of educational information.
