IBMA is an organization dedicated to human development through Budo, instructor development, international exchange, community and social contribution, and the preservation and advancement of Budo culture, with Budo Education Research as the foundation of its activities.
While respecting traditional Budo, we study the role Budo should play for future generations and seek to create opportunities for people to learn from one another and cooperate beyond differences in style, organization, nationality, and position.

What IBMA Seeks to Achieve
IBMA regards Budo not merely as competitive technique or a means of defeating others, but as a path of learning through which people refine themselves, respect others, and learn to live better together.
We study the traditions, techniques, training methods, and philosophy of Budo, apply their value to contemporary society, and develop an educational and research foundation through which they can be passed on to future generations.

Budo Education Research
We study Budo theory, techniques, training methods, teaching methods, and human development, and return the results to society through education, practical instruction, publications, and digital learning materials.
Education and Human Development
Through Budo, we seek to cultivate self-discipline, courtesy, respect for others, responsibility, and a willingness to contribute to society while developing learners and instructors for future generations.
International Exchange and Social Contribution
We promote exchange beyond differences in country, region, style, and organization and apply Budo education to youth development, health promotion, community activities, and social contribution.
Digital Karate Budo Textbook
Explore our digital learning materials for the systematic study of Karate and Budo techniques, theory, teaching methods, training principles, and philosophy.
Participating in IBMA
Individuals may participate in IBMA as Associate Members, General Members, or Regular Members according to their purpose and level of involvement.
Organizations and dojos, regardless of Karate style or Budo discipline, may apply to cooperate with IBMA as Cooperating Organizations or Cooperating Dojos.
Kyokushin-related organizations and dojos may apply for affiliation with IBMA KYOKUSHIN KAI for the preservation, study, and development of Kyokushin Karate. IBMA KYOKUSHIN KAI is an independent Budo organization that supports the principles of IBMA and operates with official recognition from IBMA.
